A group of renowned medical
scientists from South Korea has published the findings of a study performed on
MERS patients in Nature journal. They used Anti-MERS-CoV S1 ELISA kit obtained
from Alpha Diagnostic International (ADI) to measure specific antibody
responses to the MERS-CoV spike protein S1 domain. The study concluded that the
correlation of the virological and immunological responses with disease
severity and mortality, as well as their responses to current antiviral
therapy, may have prognostic significance during the early phase of MERS.
